National Report on Schooling in Australia 2022, Release 1
29 June 2023 The National Report on Schooling (ANR) in Australia is now being released progressively in report format with associated commentary as information is available.
The first three chapters of the National Report on Schooling in Australia 2022 are now available, showing progress by Australia’s school education sector against nationally agreed policy initiatives in the areas of schools and schooling, school enrolment and attendance, and participation in education and work.
The data portal pages relating to these chapters have been updated with the inclusion of a high-level summary of outcomes and more detailed commentary featured in a PDF of the relevant chapter.
The findings show that despite the continued impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, longer-term trends for schooling are positive with long-term gains for attainment and engagement in education, training and work.
This is the first of four releases for the ANR 2022. The next release in August 2023 will provide an overview of progress against the commitments to action agreed by Australian Education ministers in the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) declaration. The chapters on Vocational Education and Training and Student Attainment will be released in December 2023, and the full report will be released in February 2024.
