Celebrate World Teachers' Day 2024

We’re taking our hats off at ACARA to teachers across Australia for World Teachers’ Day 2024 this Friday (25 October).

A big thank you to our amazing teachers for all the work they do to educate and empower students across Australia.

Join the celebrations by taking a selfie with you and your friends using the World Teachers’ Day 2024 photobooth

Or take your very own ‘hats off’ selfie – remember to use #WorldTeachersDay2024 and tag @aitsl when you share it on your social media account so it will appear on the #WorldTeachersDay2024 media wall.

For more ideas, check out the celebration kit to thank your teacher for everything they do.

Learn how to be cyber security aware

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month – an annual reminder for us to protect ourselves online by securing our devices and accounts from cyber threats.

As cyber security is everyone’s business, make sure you find out the steps you can take to protect yourself.

When it comes to the Australian Curriculum, Version 9.0, there’s new privacy and security content in the Digital Technologies learning area that addresses key skills students need to develop cyber awareness.

Teachers can support student learning through exploring the connections to Digital Technologies in the Curriculum connection: Online safety.

This resource supports a whole-school approach to online safety and cyber security, and links to some key resources including materials from Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, eSafety toolkits and a best-practice framework for online safety education.
