ACARA social media policy
ACARA has social media accounts and we invite you to follow us on:
ACARA’s social media accounts are maintained and updated by the Communications and Strategic Relations team within ACARA.
Why does ACARA use social media?
Like many organisations, we use social media to keep our stakeholders informed about issues and alerts, news, upcoming events and information we think might interest you. We hope that our channels:
-
inform you about our work
-
supplement information published on our website and in other channels
-
keep you informed of upcoming events, campaigns, alerts and news
-
link with other education organisations in Australia and overseas
-
extend the reach of our existing communication channels and further engage with our stakeholders.
We are also aware of the ever-changing nature of social media and these goals will be reviewed and updated as necessary.
You should submit an online enquiry if you have:
-
a formal request, comment or enquiry, and/or
-
require a formal response.
Will ACARA respond to replies and messages on social media channels?
We aim to respond to as many replies as possible, but consider that generally we only access our accounts during business hours.
If your matter is urgent, call us on 1300 895 563 or 02 8098 3100.
ACARA, social media and your privacy
Occasionally we may invite you to take part in a survey, provide feedback or sign up to email updates. ACARA’s privacy statement governs any information we collect from these activities.
Moderation of social media sites
ACARA wants to encourage an open dialogue about the material we add to our social media pages. So that this experience is productive for everyone, we ask you to ensure you do not post any material that:
-
includes any language that a reasonable person would consider abusive, obscene, indecent or offensive
-
a reasonable person would consider is defamatory, abusive, harassing, discriminatory or hateful
-
you do not have the necessary rights, licenses and/or consents to post
-
constitutes spam, unauthorised advertising or soliciting
-
invades anyone’s privacy or impersonates anyone
-
is off-topic or excessively long
-
encourages conduct that may or would constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any local, state, national or international law or regulation anywhere in the world, or
-
appears to contain irrelevant or excessive links or appears to contain code.
If your contributions do not comply with these guidelines, we may remove them.
If you want to contact us directly about any issues, please submit an online enquiry.
