NAPLAN student results available from the start of Term 3
Parents and carers of students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 who took this year’s NAPLAN assessment in March will receive an individual student report (ISR) of their child’s results from their school from the start of Term 3.
Specific timing will be determined by the relevant state or territory test administration authority.
These reports provide useful information on a student’s results in reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.
NAPLAN ISRs are reported against proficiency standards. The standards are set at a challenging but reasonable expectation of what students know and can do at the time of testing.
Along with other school assessment reports, parents and carers can use the NAPLAN ISRs to discuss their child’s progress with their teacher.

Explore our new Professional Learning Hub courses
If you’re a teacher, you can now access the ACARA Professional Learning Hub, a series of courses across the key eight learning areas to support your understanding of the Australian Curriculum, Version 9.0.
The series – ‘Australian Curriculum Version 9.0: Developing a deeper understanding’ –aims to help teachers develop flexible teaching programs, which give students meaningful learning experiences to meet their needs and abilities.
With the current focus on NAPLAN results, our Professional Learning Hub courses can support teachers in English and Mathematics as follows:
English - gain knowledge and explore connections across the three interrelated strands of Language, Literature and Literacy to provide a deeper engagement with a range of texts.
Mathematics - make connections within and across the strands of Mathematics so students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical skills and concepts that can be applied to solve real-world problems.
We will provide an overview of the other key learning area courses over the forthcoming issues of the ACARA Update.
