With many students learning from home due to COVID-19, this edition of the ACARA Update outlines some of the valuable resources available to help support parents, students and teachers during remote learning.

Australian Curriculum and NAPLAN resources for parents and carers

ACARA has compiled a range of resources and links to support parents and carers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Learn how the Australian Curriculum is organised, and find helpful, quick guides to see what your child will learn at each stage of their schooling. Previous years' NAPLAN test papers and answers are available, as well as the NAPLAN Online public demonstration site, if parents and children wish to use these resources as an activity while at home.

eSafety tips for staying safe online during the COVID-19 pandemic

Staying connected online has never been more important to keep in contact with friends and family, and for students to learn remotely. However, this can also bring risks. View these eSafety resources to help students, parents and carers, and educators keep safe online.

AITSL content supporting teachers during COVID-19

Since the emergence of COVID-19, teachers and school leaders have been quick to adapt and innovate in providing education to students across Australia. Check out these handy links from the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). 

• Teacher Resource Hub: resources to support teaching during the current pandemic as well as the transition post-pandemic.
• Teachers Supporting Teachers (Facebook group): a dedicated space for teachers and school leaders to ask questions, share what works (and what doesn’t) and support each other.
• What works in online/distance teaching and learning: this special edition published in 2020 identifies best practice evidence to guide online learning and advice you can share with parents and carers.

Education Services Australia (ESA) has a range of digital resources and professional learning materials to help teachers and parents, which align with the Australian Curriculum and the Australian Student Wellbeing Framework.
