Schools “road testing” parts of draft Australian Curriculum
Teachers from approximately 150 schools across Australia are currently engaging in intensive, short-term activities using components of the draft Australian Curriculum in their classrooms.
Schools have volunteered to road test small parts of the draft K-10 Australian Curriculum for English, mathematics, science and history.
These schools are playing a very important role, and their teachers and principals will be giving ACARA feedback that curriculum writers will incorporate into the final Australian Curriculum.”
From all the schools who expressed interest in participating, ACARA has selected a range of schools from all states and territories, from cities and from regional areas, and schools with culturally diverse student populations to find out how the draft curriculum works in a range of settings.
A proposed final Australian Curriculum in English, mathematics, science and history will be published later this year.
Editors Note: if you would like to speak to a school participating in the trial please liaise with ACARA media.contact@acara.edu.au who will be able to help you find a school community who are happy to speak with you.
